Angkringan138 officially launched with an initial focus on football betting and a selection of basic casino options. The platform quickly gained traction among Malaysian players by supporting local payment methods and offering a Bahasa Melayu interface – something that was still rare among the foreign platforms dominating the market at the time.
Responding to growing demand, angkringan138 expanded its offering by adding a Live Casino section powered by professional dealers and a slots library from internationally accredited providers. Registered membership reached 50,000 in under a year of the casino section's launch.
Angkringan138 made significant investment in rebuilding the platform to prioritise the mobile experience. Every feature was optimised for smartphone screens, and page load times dropped by over 60%. This became a major turning point as more than 70% of players began accessing the platform through their mobile devices.
As a gesture of appreciation to loyal members, angkringan138 launched a comprehensive VIP Rewards programme with five membership tiers. Automatic rebates, weekly cashback and higher betting limits were among the key benefits that received an overwhelming response from the Malaysian gaming community.
Recognising Malaysians' love for badminton, angkringan138 introduced its most comprehensive badminton coverage yet, encompassing all BWF Super 1000 tournaments, the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. That same year, an e-sports section was also launched, covering Mobile Legends, Dota 2 and CS:GO competitions.
Angkringan138 continues to grow, with over 1,000 new slot titles added, deeper integration of local payment methods including ShopeePay and DuitNow, and enhanced server capacity to keep the platform stable during peak events like the EPL and IPL. Now with more than 500,000 active members, angkringan138 has become a well-recognised name in Malaysia's online entertainment community.
